One of the most famous accountants in the world is William Welch Deloitte, born in London, England and strangely enough the founder of both Deloitte & Touche as well as Pricewaterhouse Coopers. William lived from 1818 – 1898 and started working in the bankruptcy courts at the wee age of 15, and started his own firm at 25. Shortly after expanding his business to the United States, his firm began auditing a little company known for making soap, and is commonly known today as Proctor & Gamble – and still a Deloitte client.
